Donate Life New England (DLNE) provides this website (“the Site”) as a public service. Because we know you care about your personal privacy, DLNE has adopted the policies and practices described in this Privacy Statement. About DLNE
DLNE is a joint project of a number of community-based organizations dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation. These organizations include New England Organ Bank, LifeChoice Donor Services, The Center for Donation and Transplant, the Connecticut Eye Bank, and Donate Life Connecticut. As described in this Privacy Statement, DLNE occasionally collects information from users of this website. That information may be made available to all of the organizations involved in DLNE but for simplicity we refer to them all here as “DLNE.”
DLNE’s Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information DLNE does not collect any personal information about visitors to this Site (such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses) unless visitors provide such information voluntarily. If visitors do not want their personal information compiled, such information should not be submitted through this Website.
If personal information is submitted, such information may be used as follows:
- Information submitted by visitors wishing to register as organ, tissue or eye donors will be added to the Donate Life New England Organ and Tissue Donor Registry (the “Registry”) and utilized for Registry purposes as defined under the law of the applicable New England state. • Information submitted by visitors may be stored and analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of efforts made to increase the number of registered donors as permitted by the applicable state law. • Information submitted may be used to contact individuals and/or their family members for Registry purposes as allowed under law.
DLNE does not sell, rent or market personal information to third parties. All information submitted through the Registry is kept confidential except to the extent necessary to coordinate organ, tissue and eye donation in accordance with the applicable state law.
Information on Children
This Site is not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen. We do not intentionally collect information from or about users of this Site who are under the age of thirteen. If we become aware that a user of this website is under the age of thirteen and has provided any personal information to us without parental consent we will remove that child’s information from our files.
URL and IP Addresses
Like many other websites, DLNE may collect technical information about our users’ utilization and navigation of our site. This may include information such as the type of internet browser and/or computer operating system being utilized as well as the domain name of any website visitors utilize to link to this Site. This information may be used to better administer our Site and track user movements throughout the site so we can meet our users’ needs. Such technical information will not include the personal information discussed above.
